LABF3S – Matchmaking Day II
In response to the positive feedback following the inaugural Matchmaking exchange in late 2020, Titín Foundation held a repeat event, Matchmaking Day II, on July 19th, 2021. Not-for-profit organizations had the opportunity to present their projects before federal entities as a practice exercise to obtain feedback and guidance on grant writing. EDA’s Economic Development Specialist and the Puerto Rico Deputy Field Coordinator provided input to the following NGOs: ASOPYMES, Soy Unica, Soy Libre, and the International Society of Tropical Foresters, Inc.
Seven GrantStation (http://www.grantstation.com) platform licenses were given to the participating NGOs. The licenses provide technical assistance and capacity building to navigate federal and non-federal grant search tools, application processes, and post-award grant management.
The event matched local NGOs and federal partners (NDRF RSF partners) to increase the alignment of local projects with potential federal program priorities and increase local NGOs’ knowledge of federal grant opportunities for the 3rd Sector.
The virtual program provided LabF3S’s first cohort of 11 NGOs the unique opportunity to present their projects to federal programs (DOI, DOT, USACES, USDA RD, and EDA) and receive direct feedback.
