Bluetide (Bluetide Marine Economy) 2019 Grant

This EDA investment supports the “BLUEtide” Initiative component of Puerto Rico’s comprehensive economic and disaster recovery plan. The project establishes the Marine Business, Innovation, and Research Center of the Caribbean and the Puerto Rico Ocean Technology Complex (PROTECH) in a designated Opportunity Zone in San Juan, Puerto Rico. As part of Puerto Rico’s disaster-recovery, the BLUEtide Initiative will drive innovation, workforce development, and international collaboration, which will create jobs and advance emerging industry clusters of manufacturing, fishing, and tourism.
