The Southern Puerto Rico EDD (SPREDD) Stakeholders’ Event was held on January 29th, 2021, as an entirely virtual conference hosting 50 regional stakeholders and twelve facilitators, plus IEDC and FEMA observers. The local industry leaders were interviewed in small discussion groups. They represented eleven economic sectors identified as key economic development drivers in the six municipalities of Guánica, Yauco, Guayanilla, Peñuelas, Ponce, and Juana Díaz. Speakers from the International Economic Development Council, StateBook International, and the Economic Development Administration presented background information and outlined a federally designated EDD’s opportunity to the region.
